 Couple: Rikka & Evan Frisk Venue: Duns Castle Estate, Duns Scotland Date: November 17, 2023 It was a crisp, sunshine-filled autumn day — a rare gift in Scotland in November — and we woke up, all twenty souls who were invited to celebrate my sister and her soon-to-be husband, in a castle. Yes, an actual castle in Scotland. Even saying it out loud feels like a dream. I had the honor of wearing many hats throughout the day: makeup artist, hair stylist, florist, and photographer. Whether this was a testament to my sister’s deep trust or her excellent budgeting skills, I’ll leave that for you to decide. What I do know is that it was a gift to hold all of those roles for someone I love so deeply. The day unfolded with the kind of warmth and joy that feels uniquely Scottish: falconry in the morning, bagpipes echoing during the ceremony, a whisky tasting, and a five-course Scottish dinner that felt like a celebration of community, place, and love. And just when we thought the day couldn’t get any more magical — cue the Harry Potter-inspired photo session at the end of the evening.
