falling autumn thoughts

For myself, fall is a time of internal reflection. The wild and jam-packed days of serendipitous summer are over and — I believe that for many of us — we find ourselves longing to be still... to remember and reflect on past times while looking ahead to our futures.

While reflecting and thinking, I find myself creating lots of lists — lists that have a tendency to all too quickly bury themselves deep into my phone. So, instead of allowing these ideas to die... I'm sharing them with you.

The following is a list of things I’ve been reminding myself as of late:

  1. Making time to create is never a waste.
  2. Everyone is weird; it’s a perspective thing. So embrace both your own and others’ weirdness.
  3. Solo car drives offer the perfect “vehicle” for great thinking.
  4. Don’t be afraid to love unapologetically and boldly.
  5. Appreciate the beautiful details in the mundane.
  6. Change is inevitable; it’s the only thing you should ever grow used to.
  7. Good people can be found everywhere and anywhere.
  8. Accept people for who they are and where they are NOW.
  9. Linnnnger more in the present.
  10. Most people are willing to help, so don’t hesitate to ask for help when you need it.
  11. The world can be harsh; but, it is ultimately kind, and love prevails.
  12. Have courage while being patient and kind. That’s all.
  13. Go ALL OUT with the ridiculous things that you wholeheartedly believe in.
  14. Stumbling is okay as long as you get back up again.
  15. Cleaning out your car every week is a good idea.
  16. The world is not out to get you — many individuals just tend to be selfish and fearful creatures.
  17. When you’re hungry, EAT. Give your body what it needs!
  18. Say YES to challenges.
  19. Say YES more.
  20. Don’t allow fear to rob you of opportunity.
  21. Be attentive and observant of others.
  22. Balance is a unicorn; it’s not real.
  23. Only say NO if you absolutely have to, never out of dumb fear.
  24. Move your body whenever it tells you to — moving is good; it keeps you alive.
  25. Listen more.
  26. Every day it its own adventure — live with that mindset and you’ll never feel stuck.
  27. Look the check out person in the eye and ask them how they’re doing. Tell them they’re doing a good job :)
  28. Notice the unnoticed.
  29. Always be curious.
  30. The season of fall will come again... next year. (fyoof)

Enjoy this waning season of fall and all of the thinking that this specific time of year often brings.
